One file, installed directly. Budget about five minutes — most of it is Android asking whether you're sure, which it should.
AURA is an Android app, so the file below won't install here. Open this page on your phone and the install takes about five minutes.
02 Install
Five steps, in order
Android treats apps from outside the Play Store carefully. Nothing here is a workaround — it's the normal path, it's just spread across screens that are easy to miss. Step 4 is the one everybody gets stuck on.
Tap the download button above from the phone itself, not from your
computer. The file is called
aura-1.0.438.apk.
It's large, so use Wi-Fi if you can.
When you open the downloaded file, Android says the browser isn't allowed to install apps. Tap Settings in that message and turn on the switch — it grants permission to whichever app you downloaded with, not to the whole system.
You can switch it back off after installing.
Google scans apps it hasn't seen before and shows "Unsafe app blocked" or "App scan recommended". This is Play Protect flagging an unknown developer, not a detection of anything.
Tap More details → Install anyway. If you'd rather verify first, check the file's fingerprint against the one published below.
On Android 13 and newer, apps installed outside the Play Store are blocked from using the Accessibility service. AURA needs it to see and touch the screen, so without this step the app installs but can't do anything. When you try to enable it you'll see a dialog reading "Restricted setting — for your security, this setting is currently unavailable."
Your phone may ask for your PIN, pattern or fingerprint — that's expected. Some brands word the menu item "Allow restricted setting" or place it behind "More". If you don't see it at all, your Android version doesn't need it.
AURA asks for what it needs, one screen at a time, and explains each one before the system dialog appears. It needs four things to work at all — microphone, the floating bubble, the accessibility service, and its own keyboard — and asks for everything else only when a task actually needs it.
Last, add an AI provider key in Settings → Agent Brain. Groq and Google Gemini both have free tiers that are enough to try it.
03 Your phone brand
Some brands add their own switches
Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo and Huawei layer extra permission gates on top of Android's. The tell-tale symptom is that everything looks enabled and the floating bubble still never appears. Find your brand below.
Xiaomi · Redmi · POCO MIUI / HyperOS
MIUI has a second, private overlay permission that Android's own switch doesn't cover. The app can't detect or request it — it just silently never draws. This is the most common "the bubble doesn't show up" report.
- Open Settings → Apps → Manage apps → AURA
- Tap Other permissions
- Turn ON Display pop-up windows while running in background
- Also turn ON Display pop-up windows if it is listed
- Back on the app page, turn ON Autostart — without it AURA won't survive a reboot
OPPO · realme ColorOS
- Open Settings → Apps → AURA → Allow floating windows
- Turn ON Allow floating windows and Display over other apps
- Open Settings → Battery → App battery usage → AURA → Allow background activity
- In the Phone Manager app, enable Auto-launch for AURA
vivo · iQOO Funtouch / OriginOS
- Open Settings → Apps → AURA → Permissions → Floating windows → Allow
- Open i Manager → App manager → Autostart manager and turn ON AURA
- Open Settings → Battery → High background power consumption and allow AURA
Huawei · Honor EMUI / MagicOS
- Open Settings → Apps → AURA → Permissions and turn ON Display over other apps
- Open Settings → Battery → App launch → AURA and switch to Manage manually
- Enable all three: Auto-launch, Secondary launch, Run in background
OnePlus OxygenOS
The standard Android switches are enough for the bubble to appear. One extra step keeps AURA alive between sessions:
- Open Settings → Battery → Battery optimisation → AURA and choose Don't optimise
- If your build has it, allow AURA in Settings → Apps → App auto-launch
Samsung One UI
No extra overlay permission needed. One UI is aggressive about sleeping apps, though:
- Open Settings → Battery → Background usage limits
- Make sure AURA is not in Sleeping apps or Deep sleeping apps
- Open Settings → Apps → AURA → Battery and choose Unrestricted
Pixel · Motorola · Nothing · stock Android nothing extra
Nothing beyond the five install steps above. Stock Android has no hidden overlay gate, so once the accessibility service is on, AURA works. Do make sure Restricted settings is unlocked — step 4 applies to every brand.
04 Permissions
What it asks for, and why
Four permissions are needed for AURA to function at all. Everything else is asked for the first time a task actually needs it, and refusing simply removes that ability. You can revoke any of them later in Android settings.

05 Verify your download
Check the fingerprint
Every release is signed with the same key, and this is the SHA-256 of aura-1.0.438.apk. If yours matches, the file you have is the file that was published.

06 Known limits
What this build can't do yet
- No automatic updates. Apps installed outside the Play Store can't update themselves. AURA shows a banner when a new version exists and links back here.
- Same network only for the developer MCP feature. Your phone and computer must be on the same Wi-Fi — connecting across networks needs a relay that isn't set up yet.
- Large download. One universal file carrying on-device models and both ARM processor architectures. Per-processor builds are planned and will cut it further.
- Not on the Play Store yet. Which is why the install has five steps instead of one.
07 If something's wrong
Three symptoms, three causes
The bubble never appears
Almost always a brand-specific overlay gate rather than Android's. The permission reads as granted because Android thinks it is — your manufacturer added a second switch behind it. Find your brand in the section above; Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, Huawei and Honor all do this.
Accessibility won't turn on
That's Restricted settings — step 4. Go to Settings → Apps → AURA → ⋮ → Allow restricted settings, confirm with your PIN, then try the accessibility switch again. The switch will simply refuse until you do.
AURA stops working after a while, or after restarting
Battery management killed it. Set AURA's battery usage to Unrestricted (or Don't optimise), and on Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, Huawei and Honor also enable Autostart / Auto-launch — that's the switch that decides whether it survives a reboot.
Still stuck
Open Settings → Permissions health inside the app — it shows exactly which permission is missing and takes you straight to the right screen. If that doesn't explain it, email dinesh210805@gmail.com with your phone model and Android version.
